Showcase: Rotex 4630Philipp Sander
We are Rotex D.4630 from Brazil! Our club was founded almost two years ago – in fact, our two-year anniversary is in October and we are excited to tell everyone that we are here to stay! Our number of members has risen each year, and we currently have 12 members.
Along with the Rotary Youth Exchange Committee of District 4630, we run a variety of activities related to exchange students. Our main task is to make sure that the exchange students in our district adapt well to their host countries. To do so, we offer support to the Inbounds in making sure they are learning Portuguese and adapting to Brazilian culture. Also, we take part in the trainings with the Outbounds through sharing the experiences we have had on our year abroad and answering any questions they have about it. Our responsibility towards the Rebounds is to help them adapt back to Brazilian life and get over the reverse culture shock after their exchange.
These responsibilities are fulfilled through welcome meetings, tours, camping trips, cultural presentations, conferences, social projects, and many other Rotary-related activities that provide good learning and bonding experiences between the students and Rotary members.
We may be a young Rotex Club, but that does not stop us from having a great impact on the Rotary Youth Exchange Program of District 4630. We hope to have the same impact as part of Rotex International. Therefore, we put ourselves at your disposal. Feel free to contact us whenever you want!
